Rediscovering our cosy hotel in the New Forest

Since our takeover in July 2019, our vision has been to bring the calmness and comfort of the New Forest atmosphere inside the Lodge and reveal the original features of the 17th Century cottage. We have been on a journey to rediscover and uncover years of history to reveal the hidden charm and beauty of the hotel by refurbishing our public areas to welcome back our guests offering them new experiences. We are so excited to share that with you!

Inspiration & design

The Cottage has been enriched and transformed with a new pallet of natural Forest colours and textures. We wanted to rediscover original features and expose the genuine beauty of our hotel, creating a welcoming escape for our guests to relax and enjoy.

Our walls and floors have been designed for guest comfort with elegance and emphasis on natural wood furniture, exposed beams and wooden floors. Our green and yellow colour pallet, from locally sourced suppliers envelop you  in a virtual feel of leafy trees, forest ferns and beautiful sunshine.

Local quality craftsmanship

Our interiors have been transformed with a carefully chosen collaboration between local trades and suppliers. Here you’ll enjoy the artistry of hand crafted workmanship in our featured wood furniture and flooring. We have worked with traditional craftsmen and small local businesses to stay true to our investment in our local areas and communities.

Staying Eco-friendly

Our wallpaper and paint come  from Farrow & Ball, who source it from sustainable forests and responsibly manufacturing. Their richly pigmented paints are created to work in harmony with every part of our world, and are eco-friendly. They are committed to reducing impact on our planet without compromising on quality. Wallpapers are printed with their own water based paints, and the finished roll contains no vinyl, meaning that any leftover paper can be easily recycled.

Wallpapers are usually made with ink, but not theirs – they use their own richly pigmented paint, creating an effortless connection between paint and paper. The expert craftsmen at their Dorset factory uses artisanal methods to print each roll, and finishes with a fine coat of specially formulated glaze to ensure a durable and wipeable surface. Very practical and beautiful, and we can’t wait for you to see it!
