Pig Beer New Forest at Cottage Lodge this Winter

Staying on track with bringing our guests fantastic local produce, we would like to introduce you to our newest arrival. We have sourced New Forest PIG BEER for our guests at Cottage Lodge to enjoy.

Who?

Baynhams’ Brewery is a friendly family business, tucked away in the heart of the New Forest. It was founded by three members of the Baynham family in 2017, brothers Lawrence and Tom, and their cousin Harry.

Baynhams’ Brewery has grown from a shared love of beer to a business with honest recipes and flavours.

What?

Pig Beer is their debut brand and is the culmination of months of recipe development. The name is derived from the history of their premises, but the beer is 100% vegetarian friendly! Simply Session by PIG BEER is light, refreshing, and perfectly carbonated with just a hint of premium hops – Citra and Prima Donna, perfect to be enjoyed on return to Cottage Lodge.

Where?

Their brewing site is a small holding in the picturesque village of Brockenhurst. Before the site conversion, the area had been used for pig grazing with a number of fields and small barns for agricultural activity.  They have converted the field into a beautiful hop garden growing Prima Donna (one of our favourite hop varieties) and the main barn is the epicentre of their brewing activities.

The beers they produce are light, refreshing and perfectly carbonated. Delicious yet subtle flavours infused from our own hops makes Baynhams’ Beers perfect for all beer lovers.

Sustainable

They don’t have any pigs, but they do have 8 pet sheep in a field. These guys are a full-scale family brewery in the making, who have a modern and efficient brewing approach. It’s great to support a team who are committed to producing exceptional beers and who like us actively care for the beautiful New Forest National Park around us.

Their flavours are truly unique and their brewing technique is more sustainable, which is something that means a lot to us!
