Enjoy England Gold Winner Award for Excellence 2008
Cottage Lodge is delighted to be chosen out of 900 entries to be awarded Gold at Visit Britain's Enjoy England Awards For Excellence. Now in their 19th year. The awards promote healthy industry competition and high standards, helping to ensure England's place as a world-class destination. Judges visited our business for two hours to look at how we ran our business. They checked our the way in which we made our breakfast, the ingredients etc, they looked out our laundering processes, considered the way in which we reduced our impact on the environment and considered us to be the Most Sustainable Tourism Business in the UK. |

AA 5 Star Bed & Breakfast Bed & Breakfast
Star ratings, from one to five, are used to assess the standard of the quality you can expect for hotels and bed & breakfast accommodation. The inspector visited our premises and spent almost three hours looking at every space in detail. He considered the quality of everything we did and gave us a 92% rating. |

New Forest Tourism Association
New Forest Tourism Association was formed in 1989 to work in partnership with New Forest District Council to promote the New Forest as a quality year-round holiday and business destination. Today, NFTA works closely with both the New Forest District Council, National Park Authority Forestry Commission to both promote and market the New Forest as one of the premier tourism destinations within the UK.

New Forest Marque
The development of the New Forest Marque® means that people can choose food and goods which have been grown, reared, caught, brewed or produced in the New Forest area. It allows local producers to market their produce under a collective and easily identifiable New Forest symbol, whilst at the same time reassuring consumers about the traceability of the food they buy.

New Forest Breakfast
The ‘New Forest Breakfast’ was developed to encourage stronger links between small tourism businesses and local producers in the New Forest. Research in the past undertaken by Tourism South East had shown that B&B’s and small hotels were interested in using local produce in their business but did not know enough about where to source the produce, nor do they find in practical to get produce from a number of different outlets.
